What inspired you to start your business?
I come from a family of entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship is my passion, and I always knew I wanted to run my own business.
What is something you would say to someone who is struggling in their first few years of business? Is there something you struggled with and learned from in those first few years?
Chunk the work you need to do into phases. Before you can really get rolling you need to (1) figure out what you are providing; (2) decide who you really want to work with; (3) determine how to deliver your message to those people; and (4) start to really find what the best channels are for you to market yourself. Give yourself at least three months for each of these. Then, you'll be ready to really get into the weeds on specific marketing tips, systems, and other fun business stuff.
What hobbies, causes, or activities are you passionate about aside from your work?
I'm an Enneagram 7, so there's a lot. I'm a Pokemon master, triathlete, marathoner, CrossFitter, baker, and Le Creuset collector. I also have three dogs, and love listening to any podcasts about small business, history, or economics.
