Elaine Lou Cartas

CEO - Elaine Lou Coaching

I mentor women of color to become their own CEO. I have helped over 200 clients in 21 different countries create both income and impact to create a legacy, while honoring their family.

What inspired you to start your business?

I am a first generation immigrant. I grew up in my grandmother's home as the first grandchild growing up with six adults. I felt the pressure to pursue the "American Dream." As I grew up, I realize I was following other people's expectations and not my own. I realize that the American Dream is about following what I want. It is about having a life of choice. This is what I teach my clients, how to be their complete, unique self.

What is something you would say to someone who is struggling in their first few years of business? Is there something you struggled with and learned from in those first few years?

Remember who YOU are. Stop looking at what other people are doing. Share your story, your struggles and how you can help others do the same.

What hobbies, causes, or activities are you passionate about aside from your work?

I love Muay Thai (kickboxing), hiking, rock climbing, weightlifting, reading and writing.
