What inspired you to start your business?

Honestly, I felt like I was at a roadblock. After working at a company for almost 12 years and they just let me go. I was probably at my rock bottom emotionally & mentally. I was tired, I felt like I didn't have any worth. But the funny thing is, the last day I was there, I walked out with my head held high, & I was happy. It was like this burden was lifted off my shoulders.

About a month into unemployment, I wasn't really finding anything I wanted to apply to (though I did). I decided to do this free webinar on virtual assistants thinking this was one of those marketing ploys. But I was sold... I knew i could combine my love of design & organization into one thing. And figured I didn't have anywhere to go but up. Naturally over a year later, my business has shifted greatly, but I'm loving every second of it!

What is something you would say to someone who is struggling in their first few years of business? Is there something you struggled with and learned from in those first few years?

Invest in yourself & your business. It doesn't always have to be a monetary investment. I'm constantly learning new things within the online industry. And I've made great strides to connect with people in an authentic way that feels good to me. I get myself out there online & go to local events & really just talk to people. It is hard at first, but the more people know who you are, the more they'll reach out to you & want to work with you in one way or another.

What hobbies, causes, or activities are you passionate about aside from your work?

My cutest dog ever, Cota, she is a shiba inu and is a feisty one. I love hanging out with her. Going to local breweries in the Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland areas, there's so many, and taking Cota with us! In the winter, we love to snowboard!
