What inspired you to start your business?
My job as a marketing director at a nonprofit where I had to capture the stories of underserved youth helped me to understand how much I love helping people to connect with and realize their essence, their resilience, their determination, their dreams, and their innate but untapped potential so they have the life and career that allows them to be fulfilled and to have joy.
That and having a career where I chased jobs and titles and worked myself into a frenzy because I felt like that's what I was supposed to do or what I had to do because I didn't know I had other options.
What is something you would say to someone who is struggling in their first few years of business? Is there something you struggled with and learned from in those first few years?
I would tell the three things:
1. Stay off social media or don't compare yourself to what you see others doing on social media.
2. Let go of your expectations of what you think your success or your journey will look like.
3. Don't try to pour from an empty cup.
What hobbies, causes, or activities are you passionate about aside from your work?
Dog rescue, civil rights/social justice, tap dancing (I just stepped outside of my comfort zone to take a class; I've been wanting to tap since I was a young girl...now I'm 43!), samba dancing, eating, and beach volleyball.
