I'm a problem solver. A logo and branding expert, hand lettering and calligraphy artist, muralist, teacher (and plant mom).

What inspired you to start your business?

I actually started my business by accident. I have a degree in Industrial Design but knew next to nothing about business when I started. Everything I know today I taught myself.

I was working full time as an industrial designer and UI/UX designer (user interface + user experience) and picked up calligraphy as a hobby. It was truly the therapy I couldn't afford while working at a stressful office job. I was practicing for about 3-4 hours every day until I got good enough that someone asked me to make them a deck of blank Christmas cards. Then someone asked me to create some signage for their wedding, which in turn snowballed into a few more weddings. My office job wasn't the right fit for me anymore so I quit with full intentions of finding another job but instead I had thrown myself into my business and stopped applying and interviewing. I knew it was my subconscious telling me that now is the time to do this business thing, so I decided to take it on full time.

What is something you would say to someone who is struggling in their first few years of business? Is there something you struggled with and learned from in those first few years?

Stay humble, and keep on pushing through. It may seem impossible when you're in the thick of it, as if nothing you're doing is making a difference but it's your consistency that will make ALL the difference. Keep showing up for yourself and for your clients because one day, out of nowhere, it will all be worth it.

What hobbies, causes, or activities are you passionate about aside from your work?

I am so very passionate about yoga and self-development and am very active in the community, an advocate and ally for LGBTQ+ rights, I teach swimming and first aid courses, and can't get enough of hiking and camping.
