What inspired you to start your business?

Growing up, I always had a passion for organizing events and celebrations! As a 99% extrovert, bringing together the people I loved was the absolute greatest thing on the planet. For 5 years, I worked as the coordinator of a local non-profit organizing large seminars, meetings and events. As one of the first to get married in my friend group, I experienced first hand the difficulty of planning a wedding on a budget and helped friend after friend do the same. At the encouragement of the mother of a friend (whom I planned her entire wedding in 3 days) in 2015 I expanded my passion into a business. I wanted to give EVERY couple the support they needed to have a beautiful, personalized and seamlessly run wedding day!

What is something you would say to someone who is struggling in their first few years of business? Is there something you struggled with and learned from in those first few years?

Don't struggle alone!! No matter what people put out on social media, we all are struggling in different ways. Don't be ashamed to ask for help, humility is key. Always be in a mode of learning and learn what you can from those around you. Having a community makes this work even BETTER! It took me 3 years until I had true "friendors" who I could call on for support, encouragement and advice and now not a day goes by that I don't talk to friendors!Don't stress. None of it is that important. Just be the best version of yourself today, and you'll be A-OK. It's all a lesson and will make you stronger and full of wisdom to share.

What hobbies, causes, or activities are you passionate about aside from your work?

I am a member of the Baha'i faith. A world religion whose main aim is unity! I am passionate about my involvement with the Baha’i communities’ efforts to contribute to the social and economic development of our county. My involvement has been largely in the field of education that seeks to build capacity for social transformation at the neighborhood level by working with adolescents and youth. I love that my job allows me to dedicate time to these activities. This past summer, I was able to "take off" the month of July to relocate to a small town launching these community-building efforts to provide support.
