What inspired you to start your business?
Originally I would say it was just my love of photography by my WHY has changed so much in the last eleven years since I started my business. My WHY today is about helping people to live their best life TODAY! My own personal journey with my health has taught me the importance of appreciating life and not waiting to do the things we want in life. So my mission today in everything I do is to inspire people to love themselves and know they are deserving of the life they want.
What is something you would say to someone who is struggling in their first few years of business? Is there something you struggled with and learned from in those first few years?
I struggled with comparison, understanding my value and the business aspects. I think as artists we struggle with ALL of these things. So my advice would be to put your head down to do the work, stop comparing work or even business models, understand the value of what you bring to clients and don't be scared of the business side. While it can seem intimidating at first it is imperative to get a strong business foundation set in order to see your business succeed.
What hobbies, causes, or activities are you passionate about aside from your work?
The biggest thing for me is being an advocate and raising awareness for people with chronic illnesses and disabilities. As a stroke survivor living with multiple chronic illnesses and disabilities myself I have found myself drawn to using my voice to help others. It inspired me to start the Chronically Beautiful Project which while in its infancy I have high hopes for. I also LOVE yoga and teach a couple of classes a week and volunteer teaching stroke survivors.
