I'm a body and fat positive boudoir photographer who helps womxn, femmes, non-binary, and trans folx heal trauma through connecting to their body!

What inspired you to start your business?

I had severe body image issues from a very young age (as many/most of us do). When I started doing photography I quickly learned that I had a gift of capturing people and as I got older, I realized how powerful that can be. Long story short: My mother also suffered from severe body image issues - she was also my first ever boudoir session. Watching her transform in front of my lens was the most magical moment of my life. She went from worrying about her appearance every second to letting go, having fun, giggling, laughing. From that moment I knew that this is what I was meant to do, and if I could make my mother feel that way, I wanted to make every person feel that way.

What is something you would say to someone who is struggling in their first few years of business? Is there something you struggled with and learned from in those first few years?

Keep going. Let go of any belief that holds you back ("I can't do this", "I don't deserve this", "I'm not good at this", etc.). Start living as if you've already succeeded. When I realized I wanted to specialize only in boudoir, I stopped shooting weddings, families, and babies, and I only accepted boudoir jobs, only shared boudoir photos, and I immediately started calling myself a boudoir photographer. Things I wish I knew then: when you need help, ask for help! Put yourself out there. Meet people. Talk yourself up.

What hobbies, causes, or activities are you passionate about aside from your work?

I love pottery! There's something so special about creating work that can be used every day! Otherwise, I love spending every waking second I can with my amazing husband and our two pups. The most cliche thing in the world :)
