Abbie Paulhus

I'm all about creating artwork that is encouraging. I'm all about self-love and self-care. I'm about being 100% true to yourself, taking risks, and following your dreams. I'm about working hard to pursue your passions and I'm also all about taking lots of vacations and going to happy hour.

What makes you stand out in the maker community?

Tell us about your work and the projects you are currently working on.

I have my own brand (Abbie Illustrations on Etsy) where I sell prints, posters, cards, pins, notepads, and more from my original designs. I also collaborate with brands for custom illustration work. I'm currently working on my holiday designs, a custom poster for a shop in Encinitas, an illustration for Bravery Mag, and a couple secret projects I'm not allowed to talk about yet!

Who is your favorite contemporary artist or maker?

I have many many many! Dallas Clayton is a big one, Emily McDowell is another.

What inspired you to become a maker?

I couldn't not. It's in my blood. But I'm thankful to live in a generation where social media allows me to get my work out there without having to get a million degrees first and I can go directly to the people.
