What makes you stand out in the maker community?
I had to outsource for this answer and ask a member of my community and she said “I love your color choices. When I first started following you I loved how everything matched. To me, it showed you put a lot of thought into your page and aesthetic. And I also love how your designs are simple. I loved your honesty and I admire you for being so open about your faith. Even though I don’t personally believe the same thing that you do, it takes a lot to have an online presence and be really real with people”
Tell us about your work and the projects you are currently working on.
My work has to do with all things yarn and social media. You’d be surprised how many people want to look at a feed filled with cozy knitwear items and I’ve found work in pleasing their eyes with my creations (and even better pleasing their homes and bodies with my knitwear!). I am currently working up new patterns and styles that I’d love to incorporate in a rebrand.
Who is your favorite contemporary artist or maker?
My favorite maker would have to 100% be Jessica Carey from the @the.hook.nook.
What inspired you to become a maker?
Remember when I said Jessica Carey was my favorite maker? Well her feed was actually what inspired me to start a business from my makes. My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was 8 years old, and I would pick it back up every winter for Christmas gifts. I sold a little on the side here and there, and than came across Jessica’s feed and realized that I could do the dang thing all year round and make it a full time business! So I did!
