I'm a strategic marketing expert who specializes in being able to craft a unique brand story for inspired entrepreneurs looking to positively change the world. By giving these aspiring leaders the words they need to clearly express their missions and their services, they're able to build an engaging platform that attracts the most meaningful connections and conversions — from clients to investors and more.
What inspired you to start your business?
I've always wanted to figure out how I could blend both sides of my brain and both parts of my personality.
On the one hand, I'm a creative writer. On the other, I'm a strategic thinker.
There's also a part of me who's extroverted and loves connecting, while another part of me is extremely introverted and sensitive.
Wild Hearted Words was born out of a desire to blend my personal and professional worlds together, so that I'm holding nothing back.
That's especially what I do with my biweekly newsletters.
I want to give voice to entrepreneurs dreams, especially those on a social good or sustainable endeavor.
And, I've long believed that life may not always be pretty, but it is indeed beautiful. Make your story beautiful, today.
What is something you would say to someone who is struggling in their first few years of business? Is there something you struggled with and learned from in those first few years?
Don't invest in all the coaches. Invest in the right resources for your right stage of business. I spent an exorbitant amount of money on coaches who I thought could get me to where I wanted to be, but I was overshooting. I needed to give myself the time, space, and grace to make mistakes and learn along the way. Let yourself make those mistakes without a high price tag. Absolutely invest in personal development and in the right people who can guide you from where you are now to where you think you want to be, but know that the best mentors aren't the ones who will necessarily charge the highest price or promise the greatest results. They're the ones who truly listen to you, who can see the bigger picture, and who can tell you "no" when that's the right answer, including if it's a "no, you're not ready to work with me right now, but go do this and this and this, and talk to this and that person, and then come back to see if you still need me." Building your business is one of the best personal development journeys you can ever take — be ready to be bold and courageous, as much as vulnerable and soft. Give yourself space to breathe and know that you will be changed throughout this process in ways you likely never anticipated. It can all be good if you let it be. There's no need to feel behind. You're right where you're supposed to be, and the best ways you can make decisions are when you feel aligned in your head and your heart. You CAN do this. Even if in the end, it looks completely different than what you thought. Let go and trust yourself. You're wiser than you know.
What hobbies, causes, or activities are you passionate about aside from your work?
The ocean has always taken my breath away, so I surf when I'm not at my desk. I'm passionate about women's work and philanthropic endeavors, so I donate my time and skills to organizations that support women around the world. I also teach yoga and offer Reiki, and I'm also about to start fostering dogs with my daughter! I'll also take a travel article here and there. Mostly, I want to give voice to the voiceless and to do our best to help our planet heal and thrive.
