What inspired you to start your business?
I spent my entire career working for others in the corporate world and, often times, felt like it severely stunted my creativity so, I stepped out on my own and started a business, which allowed me to fully pursue my passion and build my dreams, instead of build someone else's. I also come from a family of entrepreneurs so that played a major role in why I took my leap of faith. Support is key, your "why" is EVERYTHING.
What is something you would say to someone who is struggling in their first few years of business? Is there something you struggled with and learned from in those first few years?
Keep it simple. When I first started my business, there was so much overwhelm. I thought that in order to succeed I had to have all the management software, fancy programs, a mass of clients, an assistant. Those assets help, but are not necessary when you're first starting out. Simplicity brought me the clarity I needed to focus on projects thatmade my heart happy and made me money so that eventually I could scale naturally and in ways that were manageable. It also allowed me time to still pursue hobbies and build a life outside of business, which I think is imperative to professional development.
What hobbies, causes, or activities are you passionate about aside from your work?
Connecting and supporting those in my community through my networking group, The Small Town Social, as well as giving back through my business to causes I believe in like, The Children's Legacy Partnership.
I'm also a self-proclaimed bookworm, dog lover, writer, and I absolutely love gardening. My first book will be hitting shelves in 2020!
