I'm Courtney Zerizef. I started my photography business feeling like I was over my head, floundering. After starting to tread water (and getting my MBA), I now work with creatives all over world teaching them to strategize and find success in their business.
What hobbies, causes, or activities are you passionate about aside from your work?
Hobbies: House projects, traveling near (around the PNW) and far (around the world), eating ALL the good food and drink that Portland has to offer Causes: Actively working to break down gender and racial inequality. Feminist AF
What’s something you do at your business that’s "weird" and not commonly done?
I try to make all of my business lunch meetings at various ramen restaurants around Portland. ....any excuse to eat more ramen!
What inspired you to start your business?
A need for both creativity and autonomy were my main drivers for starting my photography business (7 years ago). I wanted to LOVE my job, and I wanted to call the shots. I love art, and I love seeing the amazing creative talent from other. Watching other creatives struggle to get their feet beneath them and actually make money was my biggest motivation for wanting to start Homeroom.
